A GOOD MAN
It's been a few weeks since I last blogged. I had a lovely holiday at the beginning of May and apart from having to spend 20 hours in an airport on the way home (nightmare caused by French air traffic control strike), we had a really relaxing time. Since coming home, I can't say we've felt the benefit of our break. My elderly mother has moved to sheltered housing and so we've been up to our ears organising the new house, tidying up the old (not an easy task) and helping her settle.
Today, is the first day in 3 weeks that I have found a couple of hours to wind down and so I have finally got around to trying out one of the stamp sets which will feature in the new annual catalogue due to start on 4th June. Only 2 more sleeps until you can see it for yourself.
These are really simple cards and I think "A Good Man" stamp set is going to be one of my favourite sets. It's so hard to make cards for men.......at least I find it difficult, so this set should make it easier
As I said above, the stamp set will be available from 4th June. Other items used to make this card are carrying over from the current catalogue with the exception of the DSP used in the top one

Easter Treats
In last week's blog I was eagerly looking forward to my weekend at the Stampin' Up! Onstage convention. After a 2 day hiccup due to ill health, I was so pleased I was finally able to travel down to Telford in time for the events on saturday and sunday ............and what a fabulous few days we had.
Last time I showed you the bookmarks I had made to swap with some of the other demonstrators that were there. Today I'm going to show you the swaps I made for the sunday event. This event was specifically for our team, and my upline, Sam, organised it at a local hotel. It was so good to meet other team members who you chat with online at the virtual team meetings we have. It was such good fun.
These were relatively simple to make. The hardest thing was making sure that the chocolate eggs actually went in to the cellophane packaging inside. I had to do my own "quality control" and, of course eat all the chipped shells and imperfect eggs. Yum yum
Now, I have to confess this box is not my own design. I saw it when browsing through the internet and so I have to give the lady who designed the actual shape of the box credit. I think her name is Darby from Rejoice and Create Crafts. This is what I love about the Stampin' Up! community......you are encouraged to CASE (Copy and Share Everything). So this my take on Darby's Arch top box
To make this treat box you require a piece of cardstock 3" x 2 1/2", scored then folded at 1" on all sides.
You will see that once scored, there are 4 small squares in each corner of the cardstock. With the longer side facing you, cut the fold line at the 2 corners up to the 1st long fold line. Turn the card to opposite side and do the same.
Now you have 4 little flaps. Fold the shorter side up and glue the little flaps to the inside of the longer side and this should form a small box
Take a piece of 6 x6" DSP (Designer Series Paper) and put double sided sticky tape down 2 adjacent sides of the DSP.
Remove the backing tape and with the sticky tape at the bottom part only, start to roll DSP around the box until you reach the opposite side of DSP which has the sticky tape and seal . It is a neater finish if you start rolling from just over halfway along the long side of your box so that the seal ends up at the back of the box.
To form the arch at the top, I ran it through the Bigshot using the Stitched Oval framelit, but you could just draw an arch shape using a cup or saucer as a template and cut your shape with scissors if you don't have the framelits
To decorate the front I used whisper white cardstock and the Label me Pretty punch, then stamped my greeting with Hello Beautiful from the Butterfly Gala bundle. This was also the set I used to make the butterflies which were coloured using blender pens. I actually discovered that one of the framelits from the Needlepoint Element die set leaves a stitched shape on cardstock which is identical to the label me pretty punch, so I used that to create a stitched label but that isn't necessary. It just gave that little bit more detail.
I used a small circle punch to make the holes ( actually I regret using the scalloped punch and if doing this again would use plain circle). I thought this made it easier to carry the finished box. I tied my bag of eggs with ribbon which I fed through the finger hole. Here's a tip......I used white ribbon and coloured it with blender pens to match the DSP.
As I previously said, I filled my box with mini chocolate eggs as it was the week before Easter, but it is a nice size for hand cream , shower gel etc

Bookmarks with an Easter theme
Later this week, I'm off to Shropshire for a few days. I'm so looking forward to having a break and spending some time in our caravan.
The main reason for the trip is to attend 2 Stampin' Up! events. The first one is on Saturday and is a convention for all SU demonstrators. This is when the new annual catalogue is launched, so it is exciting to find out what's new for 2019 -2020 and to see new products being showcased. Best of all, it gives me the opportunity to meet up with fellow demonstrators, many of whom I have followed on Pinterest and YouTube. I've learned so many tips,techniques and ideas from them so it's good to meet them in person.
The second event is a team event with my upline. I am part of a very large team who are based all over UK and Europe, so this is an opportunity, when many of us have travelled to be at Onstage, to have a team get together the next day.
On both days there is a time to swap cards or 3D gifts. This is to give you ideas and samples of various products and it's especially good to see some made with products you've perhaps overlooked.
As it's almost Easter, I've used text from a stamp set called His Grace to make a bookmark for one of my swaps and die cuts from the Wonderful Romance bundle. It makes a change from all the bunnies that are prevalent nowadays at this time of year (cute as they are).
To make this bookmark I used coloured cardstock measuring 6 1/2 inches x 1 7/8 inches. The trellis is from the dies in the Wonderful Romance bundle as are the little flowers. Once these were glued to the cardstock, I then used the Circle Tab punch to make the little tab at the top. The butterfly is from Garden Scene framelits and is attached to the text from His Grace with a glue dot. I do hope you like it.

Storage solutions
Isn't it nice to have the lighter evenings now that Spring is officially here and to see all the spring flowers and blossoms in full bloom. You start to feel that summer is just around the corner. The downside is that there seems to be more house work as the brighter days highlight what you don't notice over winter
It's an exciting time in Stampin' Up world too as this is the time we look forward to new things eg the new catalogue in June which will have many new products and ideas.
In the meantime there is spring in Stampin Up world too, so to help you look forward to the full range of new products, there is a completely new product which I am excited to share with you right now
Stampin Up have now introduced their own adaptable to your needs storage units. I know I am going to invest in some of these to try and tidy up my rather messy workspace. I know I can gradually build it up as and when I require more, so I don't need to buy it all at once..........

Lovely Lattice
Hello and welcome to my first blog.
Today I'd like to show you a simple design using Stampin' Up! products. With just a few products you can create beautiful cards for any occasion.
The stamp set I have used for this project is a free item from Stampin' Up!......Yes you read that correctly....FREE. Until 31st March 2019, there's a selection of free items that you can choose for each £45 spent on products from the Annual and Spring/ summer catalogues. The Stamp set used is Lovely Lattice which has been stamped using black memento ink then coloured with Highland Heather and Old Olive Blender Pens. I used clear Wink of Stella glimmer to give some shine to to the lattice work behind the flowers and I stamped my greeting in black memento ink. I chose the Thinking of You stamp,(I've had it a while) as this card is going to a friend who is ill, but the image would be just as suitable for a birthday or thank you card.

On the inside, I layered the card in the same way and used a sentiment from the Well Said Stamp Set which says "Sending healing thoughts your way".
